OUR HISTORY
Disability Training Services H.B. Trust Board was initially formed in 1986 under the name of Hawke's Bay Community Enterprises (Inc). The Trust has been operating from Austin Street, Onekawa in Napier from 1987. The present name change was set in 1995 with the formation of a CharitableTrust. Since the organisations inception twenty years ago, it has been sponsored and supported by Central Government with specific outcomes and objectives. Currently the Trust employes 9 fulltime staff and 3 volunteers.
OUR BUSINESS ENTERPRISE
Over the past 12 months DTS has undergone a lot of changes externally and internally. Through the repeal of the DPEP Act we have undergone a transition from sheltered workshop to a Business Enterprise and named it 3P Industries Ltd a company with a charitable status with all revenue going back to grow the business and create more employment .
Our emphasis, as a significant employer of 43 Factory Workers, is to have a professional image and to provide an excellent customer service to the Hawke's Bay community:
- Light Engineering for regional provedoring merchant; e3.g. producing cray fish pots for the whole of the North Island and outlying islands (Chatham Islands), engineering work on vehicles, parts for industrial conveyer belts, trolley repair/servicing, etc.
- Catering for local sports clubs
- Woodwork for regional building trade and hardware market
- Foam ends for packaging in telecommunications market only foam end manufacturer between Hamilton and Wellington
- Car Cleaning for businesses fleets and community of HB
- Office Administration for other businesses
- Mail packaging and mail outs for local businesses, Tertiary Education Providers, Real Estate Agents
- Packaging for printing businesses

Packaging and Assembly for regional, national and export markets
- Packaging organic food products for national field chain
- Labelling food packaging for top end market
- Assembly of wire locks for the regional and national farmers community
- Assembly for local hardware stores
